Beer cake
Beer cake…it sounds so ominous and yet it’s one of the most simple and delicious cakes ever. I absolutely love this cake. It’s so light and fluffy not to mention that it has this unbelievable roasted malt flavour and smell. The house really hums of coziness each time I bake it. Nothing better than a slice of beer cake and a cup of tea!
Ingredients
400g sugar
200g soft butter
6 eggs
240ml beer (blond)
360g flour
baking powder
Method
Mix the sugar with the butter until you have a soft cream
Add the eggs
Add the beer
Mix the baking powder with the flour and then add to the batter
Bake in pre-heated oven at 180°C (fan)
