Welcome to my website where you can find my “home-baking” recipes. Visit also my blog, where I document my adventures in travel, photography, food and so much more. Hope you have a nice stay!
I started baking around the age of 10 years old. The first thing I baked was an upside-down peach cake with my mother. I was so fascinated by the magic of making a cake that I wanted to do one myself once I was alone…well, disaster ensued and my first “all-by-myself” cake ended in the bin.
That first disaster did not discourage me, far from it. I kept on baking more and more, kept taking a keen interest in the home economic classes at school and particularly loved the cooking lessons.
I used to bake so much that I probably got good at it. Why probably? Well, family started asking me to bake for small weddings, christenings and birthdays and haven’t stopped since.
Although I love the beautifully decorated, complex cakes and bakes, I am now going back to “traditional” bakes, “old-fashioned” bakes. I love old-fashioned bakes because, yes they are simpler to do (or one might think), but mainly because they mean a lot to me personally. They bring back memories of sounds and smells that cannot be found nowadays in this rush-rush life we lead. Traditional, old-fashioned bakes bring wonderful memories of baking with my mother or grand-mother.
I hope that you will enjoy my bakes as much as I do.
